This delightful, historic and tidal island is sometimes referred to by its Anglo-Saxon name of ‘Lindisfarne’. Holy Island is famous for both its Anglo-Saxon and medieval religious heritage and the enchanting castle.

The tidal mud flats, saltmarshes and dunes are part of an extremely important wildlife site, with rare plants and birds that visit from thousands of miles away.
