St. Oswald's Way Countryside Short Walks
GREAT WHITTINGTON

Great Whittington is an extremely pleasant stone-built small village with a small village green. It is close to the Tyne Valley but is separated from it by the often-visited Roman frontier of Hadrian's Wall.

The village still retains a great sense of calm though and is surrounded by the attractive, rolling countryside that is typical of this beautiful part of Northumberland.

Distance: 5 miles (8 km)

This walk is available in its own folded leaflet in a set of eight which are waterproof and rip-proof, including maps, route instructions and information about the places and features found on the walks. They provide inexpensive and invaluable information to plan these great days out on St. Oswald's Way in Northumberland.
